Robin is sprawled on a couch with a clubfoot raised on four pillows. She is eating popcorn out of a bowl balanced on her stomach. Her eyes are glazed over on a Law and Order: SVU Marathon. She may have been here for days. Or weeks without moving. Her phone buzzes, and by the fourth ring she has managed to find it nside a bag of doritos.

Robin: This is Robin.
Jill: Robin! It’s Jill from Hedgefund Capital. How goes it?

Robin takes a moment to process the question.

Jill: .. Robin?
Robin: Yes. Yes that’s me.
Jill: So, we really loved meeting you and want to offer you a position here.

Robin takes another moment to process the comment.

Jill: … Robin? You there?
Robin: .. Yes, so sorry my phone keeps cutting out – she high fives herself for the good save – but that sounds wonderful! Why don’t you email me the details and we’ll sort it out!
Jill: Oh that is just wonderful! Ok, bye now!
